The Daniel Roth Papillon is available in rose or white gold, and platinum. Recently I had the chance to photograph a specimen in platinum; it was a truly solid chunk of platinum.

Here it is in comparison to a Metropolitan dual-time in white gold. Both use the same ellipsocurvex case, which has a curved caseback.




I do like the heft of the platinum Papillon and the deep metallic blue of the dial is very eye-catching. But I still prefer the richer colours of the rose gold version, although some may find it somewhat loud.
